To Tomorrow's Children the exhibit:
Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph over Adversity
The Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College is privileged to
have a group of Holocaust survivors who work closely with the Center, sharing
their stories with students to help eliminate hate.
As time marches on, we are faced with the reality that future
generations will not be able to meet Holocaust survivors and hear their stories
firsthand. We asked these survivors to provide a story from their Holocaust lives
accompanied by their message to tomorrow's children, a legacy they wish to be
remembered and taught.
These stories have been published in our book, To Tomorrow's Children.
This book has become a traveling exhibit, Survival of the Human Spirit: Triumph over Adversity which is on display
at area libraries.
See the exhibit on the road at the
West Deptford Public Library from this fall.
Area exhibits:
Ocean County Library -- Jackson, NJ
May 7 – May 30, 2008
As part of the exhibit, we will be holding the program Soulsaving: Common Threads of Kindness on
Wednesday, May 7, 2008
These photographs and stories will also become part of a permanent exhibit
to be housed in the Center for Holocaust Studies, and used as a traveling
exhibit for schools. These survivors and their stories will thus remain
the foundation for the study of the Holocaust. Each story will be
the basis of a lesson plan that will have the survivor at its core,
using his or her particular experience as the focus of study.
